Bulletin #4

We have chosen a charity! All profits from the event will be going to breast cancer research at The City of Hope. This organization, inspired and supported by a philanthropic volunteer movement, is dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases through innovative research and patient care.

The philosophy of the City of Hope has inspired them to develop programs that focus on treating the whole person-their emotional, spiritual and social well-being- in addition to their physical care. It is this combination of patient-centered care, state-of-the-art treatment and groundbreaking research that has made City of Hope a world-renowned leader in the fight against cancer, diabetes HIV/AIDS and other devastating diseases. We are proud to be contributing to such a noteworthy institution.

Women's World Record
Bulletin #1
August 14, 2001

Hello to all who are interested in participating in Jump for the Cause, The 2002 Women's World Record.

My name is Kate Cooper, and I will be one of the many persons involved in the organization of this upcoming record. I know that many of you are wondering how to get an invitation to this event. We want this event to be the best Women's World Record ever! With this as our goal, we are taking special consideration while evaluating requests for slots this time around. We want to ensure the highest level of talent and dedication possible.

Formal invitations to JFTC 2002 WWR will be sent out early in 2002. If you are interested in participating, please contact me at kate@jumpforthecause.com with the following information:

Your name, Address, Telephone
E-mail
Number of jumps (total)
Number of jumps in the last 12 months
Year of first jump
Largest Formation (completed)
Largest Formation (attempted)
Number of points of 4 way completed in time (35 seconds)
Height, weight and inseam

Home Dropzone

I will be amassing these resumes and sending information on try out camps out to individuals we would like to see evaluated. We have no minimum number of jumps for this skydive, but I anticipate the average jump number will be well in excess of 1000 jumps per participant.

If you are interested in attending, please start your fund raising as soon as possible so that you do not find yourself in a time crunch when the actual invitations are sent out.

We have several try out camps on the books already. The first will be held at Skydive Perris Sept. 1 and 2. You can attend either one day or both, but full day commitment will be required. The second camp is also at Perris and will be held Sept. 20, 21, 22, and 23. This is a four day camp and attendance for the entire event is mandatory. The third is also at Perris, November 1, 2, 3, and 4. This is a 120 sequential event and an invitation is needed to attend. Please contact kate@square1.com for information on any of these camps or events. More camps will be made available throughout this and next year.

We will also be setting up persons around the country and world who will be in a position to evaluate candidates who cannot attend any of the formal camps. Keep an eye on these pages for a listing of these persons.

Thank you so much for your interest in Jump for the Cause, and I look forward to jumping with you all soon! I am VERY excited about next year's event. Please feel free to contact me at kate@jumpforthecause.com if you have any questions on slot availability or anything else to do with the dive mechanics.

Blue Skies, Pink Ribbons!
