Additional Hobbies & Interests:
In skydiving, my passions are 4-Way and large formation sequential skydiving. Outside of skydiving, my heart belongs to my fabulously amazing husband, Randy, my family, and my cats. I can spend endless evenings anywhere there is good food, good wine and good friends, although any one of those things seems to attract the other two.

A Quick Bio:
I am 38, live in Raleigh, North Carolina and work in financial services. I started skydiving in 1995 and that simple act has blessed me a thousand times over. I met Randy at my home DZ while he was visiting for a Boogie, and many of my dearest friends have come to my life through skydiving.

Why is it important to you to be a Participant of Jump For The Cause 2005?
The strenth and support of the women and men around JFTC is simply incredible. I have never been to any event where there is such a feeling of fighting for not only a common goal, but a common good. Every single person involved participates for a personal and just reason, and you can actually feel that in the air and on the ground. You see the money raised, you see the hard work, you hear the stories and cry the tears, and then you see the end result helping a facility on the front line of disease detection and treatment. How can anyone NOT want to be a part of something so dyanamic, something that has such a real impact on fighting this terrible disease? Oh, there is also some skydiving that happens, and there are some amazing women with whom to share that bit of pink sky.

Do you have a personal story related to cancer that you’d like to share?
I am a 9 year survivor of cervical cancer. Unlike breast cancer, screening for cervical cancer begins for women early, and happens often - with each PAP smear. This early detection saved my life. Unfortunately, screening for breast cancer doesn't have this level of frequency, nor does it start as early. JFTC not only raises money to help fight this disease, it brings awareness to early detection. If only one woman I talk to about JFTC is prompted to perform breast self-examinations more regularly, or asks her doctor questions about her risks and possible screenings, it is all worth it.
