Nancy began skydiving in 1975, at the Orange Sport Parachuting Center, in Orange, Massachusetts. Nancy learned to fly in 1985, in Nashua New Hampshire. She earned her Commercial and Multi-engine ratings in 1986. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.
A Master Rigger, Nancy holds D License #7675, is a USPA Licensed AFF Instructor Examiner, Tandem Course Director, a perennial member of the U.S. Style & Accuracy Team since 1988, with many Bronze and Silver Medals in those events, as well as a Bronze Medal in 10-Way Speed Star. At the World Meet in Gap, France, in 2003 she and her teammates won two Bronze Medals in Team Accuracy and Overall Nation.
Also a participant in numerous World Record skydives including the worlds’ first 100 Way, 1986, The First 200 Way, 1992. Worlds first 222 Way in Bratislava, Slovakia 1994. 1982 Women’s record 32 Way formation, 1986 Women’s record 60 way formation, 1988 women’s 75 Way formation, 1989 Women’s 79 way formation, 1992 Women’s 100 Way formation, 1999 Women’s 120 way formation; 1986 51 way Round formation, 1986 60 Way Round Formation. She did skydiving stunt work in the 1995 Paramount TV movie, “Shadow Ops”, and did 100’ (foot) repelling demonstrations from a helicopter and a building for a Miami promotion.
Served as Editor of ParaNews Brief, the Parachute Industry Association newsletter, and as Secretary of the PIA from 1993-1996.
These days, Nancy enjoys working out by distance swimming to stay in shape, she also bikes, kayaks, power walks, lifts weights and practices yoga. She works in sales, product development, customer service, and advertising at Parachute Labs Inc., dba Jump Shack, a major supplier of parachute equipment to the sport and military markets. She and her husband, John Sherman, own the company. She presently has 5700 jumps.
