Welcome

My name is Dawn Suiter, I live in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and I am raising money through Jump for the Cause, a Non-Profit 501(c)3 Organization, to help discover the cure for Breast Cancer.  The money I raise, combined with the other participants will go to the City of Hope, an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution, dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

More about me...

I was born in Chicago, Illinois in the year 1975.  I started skydiving in 1998 and have made only 28 skydives since then. I am also interested in Vertical Wind Tunnel flying, reading fiction novels, traveling, snow skiing, camping, watching movies and spending most of time with my husband, daughter & our family pets.

A quick bio...

After 18 freezing years in the south of Chicago, I decided to move, with no plan, to Los Angeles, where I gave birth to my amazing daughter Lexington.  I lived in the San Fernando Valley for almost 5 years before moving to the Gulf coast. Shortly thereafter I met my husband John of 6 years now, when he took my on my first Vertical Wind Tunnel flight!  We have been nearly inseparable since.  We moved to Florida where he helped to open the SkyVenture in Orlando, and where he took my on my first Skydive over the Space Center with Don Krueger & Scott Miller as my AFF coaches.  I made my first jump with about 300 minutes under my wings in the tunnel, with a brand new never before jumped Navigator 220 and had a picture perfect landing! I made 17 jumps that summer before we moved to Tennessee, where my husband calls home. Today, I’m lucky to make a few jumps each year when we head down to Florida, although I bought my own rig last year (Love my Infinity) and so should get at least a few more jumps than normal in 2005!

I own & operate Bodyflight Network, an internet site dedicated to the Vertical Wind Tunnel Industry World Wide, and I also maintain a  Website & Design business with an intimate client base.  I truly enjoy the freedom of being self-employed and owning my time, which allows me to donate some of my time to a good cause (such as Jump For The Cause).  In addition to that, I assist my husband with his businesses of Vertical Wind Tunnel Sales & Consulting & Tunnel Coaching & Training, where I handle all the fun behind-the-scenes stuff like marketing, promotion, internet & print advertising as well as all the legal & financial details.

Today I have flown in 6 different Vertical Wind Tunnels and have well over 2300 flying minutes accumulated from those tunnels, and continue to add at least a few hours each month!   Visit my online logbook to see my current time. And as a result of having so much time, I’ve had a fun time with my lonely 28 Skydives: 1 successful 6 way round - 1 successful 7 way round - 7 FreeFly jumps - 6 student jumps - 13 Freestly/Fun jumps. Our entire family flies together, and it’s a wonderful thing!

I am a delegate for the Pink Mafia Tunnel Sisters (PMTS #3), and I induct girls at Appalachian Amusement Center in Western  N.Carolina with my Barbie™ Mary Jayne. The first sister inducted into the PMTS was my daughter Lexi (PMTS #4).

Someday I might like to actually JUMP with JFTC but for now, I’m thrilled to be a part of the fundraising & volunteering some free time to maintaining the website & designs you see here!

Personal thoughts I would like to share...

Participating in Jump For The Cause 2005 is important to me because it gives me a chance to give back. I was asked to volunteer to design, create & manage this JFTC 2005 Website (what do you think??) and I’ve donated well over 150 hours working on making it better so far (whew!).  I strive to continue to come up with new and innovative ideas to help further the Cause through the internet, because even though I won’t be part of the skydiving record, I am be proud to be part of the team who helped to find a cure cancer.

In closing I would like to say that no matter the size of your contribution, every dollar counts!  Your tax deductible donations to Jump For The Cause will be well spent through the City of Hope & will hopefully, someday, possibly save your life.. or mine.  Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to learn more about Jump For The Cause, and for donating your hard earned dollars to something so very important to ALL of us!

Please click the DONATE button to make a Tax Deductible Donation on my behalf through the PayPal.com website.
