Welcome

My name is Carol Barratt. I live in Chilliwack, BC Canada and I am raising money through Jump for the Cause, a Non-Profit 501(c)3 Organization, to help discover the cure for Breast Cancer. The money I raise, combined with the other participants will go to the City of Hope, an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution, dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

More about me...

I was born in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC. I started skydiving in 1979 and have made 1500 skydives since then. I acquired my Instructor and Coach ratings in the early 80's. The frequency of my jumps slowed down for about 10 years while I raised a family. I'm happy to be back into it, in a big way, doing BIG-WAYS!!!

A quick bio...

I live in the Skagit Mountain Range near Chilliwack, BC. I am married and have two children. My daughter(18yrs) has 16 jumps and plans to continue this summer. My son (10yrs) enjoyed his first indoor skydiving experience at the Perris Valley Wind Tunnel last May. He loved it and says it's better than Disney Land. Future skydiver! When at home we enjoy horseback riding, hiking and snowshoeing on our local mountains.

I started flying a few years ago and got my private pilots license. It's just a hobby for now, but I'd like to work on getting my commercial license and maybe fly jump planes!!

I work for the Chilliwack Society for Community Living as a Support Worker in a program for men with developmental disabilities. My work place has been very supportive of my participation in Jump For the Cause

Personal thoughts I would like to share...

Participating in Jump For The Cause 2005 is important to me because I have several friends who have suffered from breast cancer. Many of whom are young, healthy women. It has made me realize that any woman can get breast cancer. It could be me, my daughter, sisters or Mom. This is an exciting and unique way I can help. I am really honoured to be part of this team.

In closing I would like to say thank you so much to all of the people who have supported me through donations, fundraising efforts or training.

Please click the DONATE button to make a donation to Jump for the Cause on my behalf through the PayPal.com website.
