Greetings ladies
The winter has flown by and we are now 6 months away (just under) from JUMP FOR THE CAUSE--the new Women's World Record in Formation Skydiving.
1. Formation suit colors and slotting:
The final details of the formation and exit order are being worked on by Tony so I hope to start the long job of slotting (and suit color assignment) soon. Hopefully this will be up on the site and in your mailboxes by the end of April. Click Here
We're changing the color of the formation a bit this year and the non-pink suits will be Yellow, Blue and White. There will be 21 suits of each non-pink color going all the way from outside whacker to base which will give us greater contrast in the sky and in photos.
Now, please do NOT contact me to request a specific color suit. I am mentioning this only so that 63 of you will not be surprised or worried when your assignment comes through as non-pink. Where possible I will try and work with existing suit colors but this is not a guarantee so please be understanding if your slot for '05 requires a new suit.
Please get measured NOW for a suit--so you aren't late when the color assignments come through.
Jumpsuit order forms are available at http://www.jumpforthecause.com/jumpsuit_orders.html
You are, of course, welcome to use the jumpsuit manufacture of your choice but these know the routine and are offering JFTC a special price on suits.
2. Paperwork:
It is time to send paperwork into Richard for National Aeroclub memberships (USPA if in the USA) with FAI stamp (Sporting License if you are in the USA). Please make copies of each showing your membership good through 31 October and send them to Richard so he can note it on your files. If you are US based you can get your Sporting License quite easily on line for $45 at https://www.naa.aero/html/appsDownloads/membershipSL.cfm?CFID=18371&CFTOKEN=72468689 It takes less than one minute if you have a credit card handy.
Remember that Richard is your contact for all questions relating to money or paperwork. He's there to help you out!
3. Cool stuff for JFTC'ers:
Dawn Suiter, our unfearing webmistress, handles coaching & reservations for a new Vertical Wind Tunnel in Western North Carolina. She has graciously offered a special price for coached & block tunnel time at their facility. More information can be found at www.bodyflightuniversity.com/skydivers.html
The famous JFTC calendars will soon be available for fund raising www.gaiasrose.org and the JFTC website has a store online, www.cafepress.com/jumpforthecause with tons of cute JFTC logoed clothing. The official JFTC t-shirts should be available soon as well--keep checking here for updates.
4. Website:
Dawn also has done a LOT of work on the JFTC website. Take a look at the Participant Page and read the biographies that have been sent in. While you are there take a moment and send in your OWN biography--choose your style below:
Style 1 | Style 2
This site is what we use to showcase our event, our cause, and our sport so if you can help by getting your biography up I would appreciate it.
5. Try Outs:
JFTC Tryouts will be held at Gold Coast Skydivers in Moss Point, Mississippi April 9 and 10. "Queen" Carol Clay will be organizing and the Pink Mafia will be in full force as well. If you know of someone who is not on "the list" and would like to be, here is their chance to demonstrate their ability. Come join us for a great weekend! FFI Jennifer Jones skyjenn@comcast.net
The Big Way Camp and 100 ways at Perris in May are both full with 120+ participants for each event, many of whom are both current (and future) JFTC members and World Team members. The JFTC Recruitment teams are currently working together to look for about another 15-20 women to round out the JFTC roster and I anticipate final decisions being made by the end of May latest.
6. Fund Raising:
Joanne Haberl and Valerie Long are our current lead fund raisers--YAY!! Remember to send the money you raise in regularly--this helps JFTC. Monthly winners will receive valuable prizes as a form of thanks from JFTC and our sponsors. Overall prizes for the person(s) who raise the most donations for JFTC are being put together. I can't say much more right now other than they are GOOD!!!
Lastly--remember to stay safe and current this summer. Jump a lot, make new friends, and enjoy life.
Thank you for being part of the JFTC team and as usual, please let us know if you have any questions.
Blue Skies,
pink, blue, yellow and white suits
